Pets Of The Week

Pets of the Week

Before we get to the featured pets for this week, all of us at Have a Heart would like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to Arvest Bank for awarding our shelter with a sizable donation from their recently held Charity Golf Tournament. Their generosity will help us care for and find homes for the fur-kids who, through no fault of their own, end up at the shelter. We appreciate Arvest choosing our Shelter as a beneficiary

Our featured kitty gets top spot this week. Meet Oreo, a medium domestic short hair kitten. Little Oreo is a very unusual tuxedo boy! Throughout his shiny black coat he has white hairs that make his coat look sparkly – it’s very rare coloring for a tuxedo. Besides his beautiful markings, he’s a sweet natured, healthy, active, playful & curious kitten of 4 months who loves attention from everyone. He’s up to date on his shots and ready to find his fur-ever home.

Our featured dog this week is Alice. Alice is a healthy, sweet, young lady of about 1 ½ -2 years of age. She appears to be a mixed terrier type breed with a solid body, shorter legs and is an easy keeper at 50 lbs. (Yes, she could use a little less feeding for her size!) Alice behaves nicely on leash and is affectionate and loving with people and children. She tolerates most other dogs, but can be very picky about choosing her canine companions. We’re not sure how she is around cats. Alice would love to find a family to call her own. Come by the Shelter to meet Oreo, Alice and all our other fur babies.

With cooler temperatures approaching it’s time to think about cool weather food; soups, chili, pumpkins and all the other comfort type food. We’re gearing up to hold our fall fundraiser, the soup and chili dinner and pie auction. Mark your calendars for this gala event to be held on November 17th.  We will have more information in a future article and will also have flyers around town with all the details. We always have a nice array of homemade goodies for this event, so plan on attending to show your support for the Shelter. Have a Heart Pet shelter is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. The Shelter and Thrift Store are open Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 3 pm. Phone 870-449-7387.
