Pets Of The Week

Pets of the Week

Happy Valentine’s Day, the day devoted to love. Everybody wants to be loved and we put a lot of effort into seeking our one and only true love. Many times this doesn’t work out and you find yourself feeling lonely and broken-hearted. Tired of dating? Maybe you’ve been lied to and cheated on. Could be you’re looking for love in all the wrong places. Stop by Have a Heart and you may just find your true love in one of our sweet pets. Before we get to our featured pets for the week, HAH would like to share a story about a little dog that came to us as a stray from Flippin. His name was Shorty and his name suited him well. He had short, stubby legs, but was a handsome boy with a brindle coat and a great personality. Shorty never made it to Pet of the Week. He caught the attention of some folks in Canada that decided they couldn’t live without Shorty. Thus began Shorty’s big adventure of relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia, CA. We’ve transported dogs out of state, but never out of the country. Shorty travelled over 2000 miles to join his new family and dog brother. He is now living large up in Canada. Word has it that Shorty now loves Canadian bacon, has learned to play Euchre and loves dipping his paws in the Pacific Ocean. Way to go Shorty and thanks to our friends in Canada that gave this sweet little boy a chance!

Our featured dog for this week is Buddy. Buddy is a black Lab mix who’s had a rough start in life. He’s about 8 months old and was hit by a car several weeks ago and had to have hip repair surgery. Buddy was fostered by a wonderful young family during his recuperation. Buddy is doing very well and is now ready for his new home. He’s housebroken, gets along well with children and other dogs and walks well on a leash. Buddy would make an exceptional family dog. Stop by HAH to meet Buddy and our other adoptable dogs and puppies.

We have a sweetheart of a deal for this week’s featured felines. It’s a 2 for 1 special adoption rate so brothers Davey and Mickey can stay together. Davey and Mickey are adorable little black DSH young cats, not quite a year old. They were part of the litter named after Monkees band members. Their litter mates have been adopted, but these two little cuties are still waiting to find their fur-ever home. These boys were born by C-Section at a rescue on March 11, 2018. They have grown up together at our Shelter and they are bonded. Davey and Mickey are constantly playing with each other and cuddle up together to sleep. It would be great if they could be adopted together. Visit the shelter to see their kitten antics. You just might want them to come home with you.
