This happy face belongs to James!
He’s a shepherd/cur mix and is certainly true to his heritage. Shepherds and Cur dogs are both working breeds that are very intelligent and energetic. They generally make good family companions, but, if left untrained, may have chasing tendencies.
James and five siblings were abandoned when their owners moved away and left them. They were fed and cared for by a thoughtful neighbor until we were able to bring them into our Shelter.
James is about nine months old and weighs 50 pounds. He is leash and house-trained and gets along with most other dogs at the Shelter.
James would love a home in the country with room to run and play. Come by and visit with James and our other lovable dogs at Have A Heart.
The featured kitty this week is actually a returned kitty.
Boo Boo was adopted out about a year ago to an older couple. Unfortunately, in the past few months, Boo Boo’s human Dad’s health has gotten worse and they made the difficult decision to surrender her back to the Shelter and move into assisted living.
Boo Boo is one year and seven months old and, while she was gone, does not appear to have missed any meals or snacks. She’s a very sweet tortoiseshell and weighs a generous 13 pounds. We are working to help this young lady slowly get back to a healthy weight. This sweet girl needs a new furever home – the Shelter can be a scary place to a kitty that has been a pampered pet.
If you’d like to meet James, Boo Boo, or any of our other adoptable pets, please call Have A Heart at 870/449-7387 or drop by at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during our normal business hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Thanks!
