Pets of the Week

This week we’ve got a whole bunch of cuties for you!

Hello, my name is Shelby. I am a 2 ½ year-old Great Pyrenees/German Shepard mix. I am currently only around 50 pounds, but I need to gain more weight.

I was surrendered to the Shelter at the beginning of April because I was being neglected by my previous owners. I was tied to a tree with no shelter, and I was severely underweight. When I came to the Shelter I weighed 44 pounds. With the help of three good feedings a day, deworming, and my current vaccinations, I am at 50 pounds and still growing.

I’m a very outgoing dog now that I am in a safe place. I love every volunteer who has come to feed and walk me. I am doing great walking on a leash and going potty outside.

I have not been tested with other dogs or cats. I would probably do best in a house with a family that may have older kids since I am still learning my manners. I’d LOVE to meet you! Just remember that shelter dogs can take up to three months to adjust to a new home, so please be patient with me.

The featured kittens this week are a set of three siblings (two girls and a boy). We estimated their date of birth at March 10, so they are about six weeks old now.

The little boy is a buff tabby with some white. His smaller sisters are both tabby calicos (aka Tabicos). Their uniquely vivid coloring is not very common, and they definitely catch your eye.

They were surrendered to the Shelter a few weeks ago, the product of an unwanted litter, from someone who already had too many pets.

They are adorable and are in what we call their “popcorn” phase where they hop and pop around chasing each other and the other cats in the Cattery.

If you would like to meet Shelby, the kittens, or any of our other adoptables, call Have A Heart at 870/449-7387 or stop by the Shelter located at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during our normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We hope to see you soon!
