The health and safety of our pets, volunteers and customers are of the utmost importance to us to us and we are closely monitoring the current COVID-19 pandemic and how it is affecting our community.

Due to this concern, effective immediately, we will temporarily limit adoptions to APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Animals available for adoption may be viewed on our website, at www.haveaheartpetshelter.org, on Petfinder, Adopt A Pet, Petango, and Pet Harbor.  We will continue to post animals for adoption in the Mountaineer Echo and on our Facebook page.

The Thrift Store will also be temporarily closed and activity with the Shelter will be limited to our regular volunteers coming in twice daily to care for the animals currently in our care.  We will take messages off the telephone and will respond as appropriate.  During these difficult times, we may be unable to help the local animal control agencies, individuals finding stray or abandoned animals, and those with litters of puppies and kittens.  We will do out best to assist as possible, but some of our rescue partners are temporarily shutting down their operations thus limiting our ability to transport animals outside of our geographic area.

As we continue to care for animals at Have A Heart, we are grateful for the support the community has provided us over the past three years.  The temporary closing of the Thrift Store will greatly reduce the financial support received that provides the veterinary care required for the animals and the overhead necessary to maintain the building.  As we do not receive public taxes or funding, we appreciate any additional contributions you aree able to make at this time.

Contributions may be made via Paypal or by mail to;

As always, thank you for your continued support of Have A Heart Pet Shelter.  We will keep you up to date on the latest developments through our Facebook Page.  Be assured, we WILL make it through these tough times.  We are dedicated to the care of these animals and to the community we serve.
