This week’s pet of the week is Lars. Here’s his story. “My name is Lars and I’ve been at the shelter since August. It’s kinda rough seeing my playmates get adopted. I don’t quite understand why people pass me up. Is it because I’m bigger? Is it because I’m black? I get along great with all the other shelter dogs and I’m a very well mannered boy. I walk well on a leash and I know the “sit” command. I love being outdoors, maybe for a run or just to play. I’m currently around 55 pounds, but I could easily use a few more pounds to fill my muscular teenage frame, like maybe from some home-cooked meals with extra special love. Come on in and take me for a walk. I hope to see you soon and win your heart.”
Our featured cat is Magic. “Hi, my name is Magic. Not sure if you remember my story how I was dumped in a pile of feces back in May. Well, my siblings got adopted and here I sit. I’m not complaining, the shelter takes great care of me. However, a fur-ever home would be purr-fect. I am playful and I get along great with the other kittens here at the shelter. I’m a little shy at first. After all I’ve been through, I can really use a trusty friend. Won’t you consider bringing me into your home?”
For more shelter news and information, visit our website at www.haveaheartpetshelter.org . As usual, we are in need of more volunteers if you can spare a little time. Stop by to play with the cats, or take one of the dogs for a walk. It would mean a lot to the fur babies. The shelter is located at 4291 E. Highway 62 in Flippin (across from Ozark Realty). Our hours are Monday through Friday 9 am to 3 pm. The thrift store is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am to 3 pm. Phone 870-449-7387.
