Pets of the Week

Our Dog of the Week is Heidi!

Heidi, Pet of the Week.jpeg

This little bundle of energy is a Mountain Feist, about six months old and stands about 18 inches tall. Heidi came to Have A Heart with her three sisters, all emaciated and scared of people. They all had a genetic condition, commonly called “cherry eye,” which required corrective surgery. Heidi was the last of the girls to get her surgery and is now fully recovered and ready to find her new home.

A Mountain Feist is a small dog bred for hunting and vermin control on farms, but also makes a great family pet. She is now well socialized and learning to walk on a leash.

Her instinctive hunting drive could make her more likely to chase small animals, so she would benefit from a fenced yard to run in. Heidi gets along with most other dogs in the shelter, but she hasn’t been tested with cats.

If you’re looking for a small sturdy dog, come by Have A Heart and visit with Heidi!

Our Cat of the Week is Stuart!

Stuart is a very sweet, laid back handsome buff tabby manx mix. He was neutered and brought into a home because he was friendly. Unfortunately, the cats that already lived there did not accept him. He was surrendered to the Shelter so he wouldn’t keep getting picked on and could find a new forever home.

Stuart plays with the others in cattery and is easy-going.

If you’d like to meet Heidi, Stuart, or any of our other adoptables, call Have A Heart at 870/449-7387 or stop by at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during our normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Hope to see you soon!
