Pet Of The Week

Pet of the Week

The volunteers and fur-kids at Have a Heart would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. The fur babies are thankful for their warm and cozy building, the good eats, the daily walks and all the attention they receive. They would not have this without your support.

Last Saturday we hosted our 3rd Annual Soup and Chili Dinner and Pie Auction. It was a huge success thanks to the generosity of our Community. We had a great time and special thanks to Terry Madden for allowing us to use his auction house, Rio who provided outstanding music for the event, Goose Brightwell, our auctioneer, and his helpers Jack Fortner and Jim Yount. Thanks to all the cooks who donated the 21 pots of soup or chili and to the bakers who donated approximately 50 cakes & pies for the auction. Thanks to the bidders that purchased all those goodies and were very generous with their bids.  Your donations are for a good cause. Thanks to the businesses who donated items, Walmart, Black Sheep B.B.Q., Pepsi, and Red Diamond. Thanks also to the numerous volunteers who helped set up, worked the event and tirelessly provide care to the animals we have had the pleasure of rescuing. This event was a lot of work, but well worth the effort. Hopefully, we can do this again next year.

Two weeks ago Have a Heart hosted the 4 day Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. A total of 151 animals were sterilized, 89 cats and 62 dogs. Thanks to all the owners who helped stop unwanted litters and shelter overpopulation. The next clinic will be held in Spring, 2019 and we will post details on our website and Facebook page.

We are setting up our Winter Wonderland in our Thrift Store. Stop by to see all the Christmas items that are for sale at bargain prices. If you have extra decorations and such that you no longer want, this would be a good time to donate them. Our inventory is constantly changing, so make sure to visit the store regularly.  Next week we will resume featuring a couple adoptable pets. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Hours are 9 am to 3 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Phone 870-449-7387.
