Pets Of The Week

Pets of the Week

The New Year is starting off great for the Shelter. We have 3 pups with pending adoptions and 5 kitties got adopted last week. There still seems to be a steady flow of unwanted puppies. We will be transporting 13 pups and one Momma dog out of state next week. HAH can’t emphasize enough how important it is to spay or neuter your pets to help stop the over abundance of animals in shelters. The first Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic will be held in April. You must pre-register for the clinic. We do not yet have registration dates scheduled, but will post them on our Facebook page and in this article. Sign up early because all the spots fill up quickly.  Also, we are in need of a few more people to walk dogs. Come by the Shelter for more information.

This week’s featured dog is Merry. Merry is a young girl of about 9 months of age. She is a pretty, feminine looking Red Nosed Pit Bull Terrier. She currently weighs 38 lbs., and is a healthy, playful and active older pup. She came to us as an unclaimed stray from Yellville. She seems sweet natured with people but doesn’t appear to have any training whatsoever.  She’s a blank slate, ready for a new start. We don’t know how she reacts toward other animals at this time. Visit the Shelter to meet Merry and our other adoptable dogs.

Our featured felines for the week are brothers Davey and Mickey. They are part of the litter named after members of The Monkees group. Davey and Mickey are adorable little black DSH young cats, not quite a year old. Davey has a white patch at his neck and Mickey has a white patch on his chest. These boys were born by C-Section at a rescue on March 11, 2018. Mama was too small to deliver naturally. We received her sweet little boys when they were about 8 weeks old. What cuties they are. They are small like their mama, very playful and cuddly. These boys are bonded and it would be nice if they could stay together. Either one (or both!) would make a great, lively addition to your loving home. Stop by HAH to meet Davey, Mickey and our other adoptable cats and kittens. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. Phone 870-449-7387.
