Pet Of The Week

For the past couple weeks Have a Heart has been conducting registration for the next Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic, scheduled to be held September 8th through September 10th. At this point there are only a few openings left. Registration is being done by phone. Once we have all the available spots filled we will take names for a stand-by list in case there are any cancellations. Call HAH to register or for more information. If you get the answering machine, leave a message and someone will return your call. Spay and Neuter is the solution to stop overcrowded shelters, euthanizing of domestic pets and dumping of unwanted puppies and kittens. It’s the right thing to do as a responsible pet owner.

It was a great week for adoptions. Foxy, a little Pomeranian dog, went to his fur-ever home. Kittens Mouse, Skittles, Miss Kitty (M.K.), Sunset Star and General were adopted. We also had a couple of long distance adoptions. Joey, a Siamese kitten, went to his home in Peoria, IL and his Siamese sister, Latte, was adopted to a home in Little Rock. Have a Heart appreciates the adopters who travel a long way to adopt our pets. Best wishes to these fur-kids in their new homes.

Oliver is our featured kitten for the week. Oliver was brought to the shelter as a tiny kitten along with the rest of the litter and his Mama. All of these darling Manx kitties adopted quickly; however, Oliver was returned at 6 months of age because his owner is moving away. He was confused and very anxious wondering why he was back at the shelter after having lived in a home with dogs to play with for 4 months, but he has since settled down. He is beautiful and lively and would thrive in an active household. Oliver is now hoping to find a new loving home. You can meet Oliver and our other adoptable pets at HAH during regular hours, Thursday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Don’t forget to browse the Thrift Store for some great bargains while you’re there. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Phone 870-449-7387.
