Pets Of The Week

It was a good week for adoptions at Have a Heart. Little senior dogs, Sweetie Pie and Meeko, were adopted together by Vickie, one of our board members. It’s sad when senior dogs end up in the Shelter. It takes a special person to adopt a senior dog, knowing that they may not be around for very much time. You will also be the person who is there for them at the end, which is never an easy thing. Thanks Vickie. Not only do you do an awesome job running the Thrift Store, but you have a big heart and lots of love for the fur-babies.  Other adoptions included a cute little pup named Teeko as well as kitties Sampson, Goliath, Camille and Yeti. You can see pictures of these fur-kids with their new people on our Facebook page. Like and follow us on Facebook to see posts for lost pets and to keep up with Shelter happenings.

Our Thrift Store is has re-opened after being closed for months due to Covid-19 concerns. There are some great bargains to be had. At this time, the regular hours for the Shelter and Thrift Store are 9 am to 3 pm, Thursday through Saturday. We are still requiring masks in the Thrift Store to protect the health of our volunteers and community members. Stop by to browse our merchandise which is constantly changing. All sales from the Thrift Store are used to care for our Shelter pets.

Chloe is our featured cat for the week. Chloe is a large, lovely Russian Blue with beautiful green eyes. Chloe is about 4 ½ years of age. She was returned to the Shelter 3 years after being adopted. At first she was anxious and frightened.  She didn’t understand what was happening. We gave her time and love and she has calmed down. Chloe tolerates the other cats in the Cattery, but would probably do better as an only cat. She does not seem to be bothered by dogs. Chloe can be a bit headstrong, but she now understands that people are her friends. Do you have room in your heart and your home for this sweet kitty who would like a second chance? Stop by Have a Heart to meet Chloe and our other adoptable pets. We do not have a featured dog for the week. We had planned to feature Teeko, but he was adopted. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Phone 870-449-7387.
