Pets Of The Week

For the past several weeks, Have a Heart has been registering pets for the upcoming Volunteer Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. At this time all the available openings have been filled and we have folks on the standby list to fill any cancellations that may occur. If you missed this clinic, the next one is scheduled for September 21st-23rd.  We will begin registering several weeks before the scheduled Clinic dates.

We had a good week for local adoptions. Two young dogs, Minnie and Opie, went to their new homes. Kittens River and Zoe were adopted together by a family with kids. Daisy, one of the All Pet and Equine store greeters, was adopted and a beautiful kitten named Psaki also found his new home. In addition to local adoptions, HAH sent 13 puppies to a rescue in St. Louis and 4 of our adult dogs went to Massachusetts where their new families were awaiting their arrival. Good luck to these fur-babies in their new homes.

Our featured dog for this week is a handsome Beagle boy named Otis. Otis is a playful guy. He was found as a stray in the Peel area. We estimate him to be 3-4 years old. Otis loves to interact with people and other dogs. We are not sure how he reacts to cats, but he does not seem to be interested in them when we walk him past the Catio. Otis appears to be a purebred Beagle, and always has his nose to the ground as you would expect from this breed. He walks well on a leash and is a calm, relatively quiet hound. Beagles tend to roam, so Otis should have a home with a fenced yard. He would make a great family pet.

Fozzie Bear is our featured kitten for the week. Fozzie is the cutest little 4 month old puff ball dark gray Tabby kitten. He has a super sweet purr-sonality and is curious and playful. Fozzie loves lots of attention, cuddling and playing with other kittens in the cattery. He is not very vocal and loves to be held. Fozzie would make a great family pet and gets along well with other cats. You can meet Fozzie Bear, Otis and our other adoptable pets at Have a Heart, located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Hours are Thursday through Saturday, 9 am-3pm. Phone 870-449-7387. Don’t forget to browse the Thrift Store when you visit. There are always great bargains to be found.
