Pet Of The Week

This week’s pet of the week is Socks. Socks is a Lab/Basset mix who is little over a year old. Socks was brought in to the shelter by a volunteer after someone threatened to shoot him and his sister to simply get them off of the owners property. Socks is extremely smart and playful. His only downside is he loves to chew, but that’s the Lab in him. Socks is housebroken and ready to fill someone’s home with love. Just look at his sweet face. What’s not to love?
We are not featuring a specific cat this week. We have some awesome kittens/cats in the shelter. Our prices on the kitties over 8 months old is $25, kittens are $50. All the felines have been spayed/neutered, have their rabies shot, dewormed, and current on vaccinations. We would really like to find homes for these kitties, since spring always brings more litters of unwanted kittens in need of care. Speaking of unwanted litters, we have dates for this year’s Volunteer Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. This year’s dates are April 25th -27th, July 27th -29th, August 1st -3rd and November 7th -9th, 2017. We will be taking our reservations “in person” again this year, starting toward the middle to end of February and into March. We plan to start with our first registration on a Saturday in mid to late February at the Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter. We have had our last couple of clinics at the shelter, and that’s where the April clinic will be held again. We are awaiting registration forms in the mail, so until we receive them we cannot set up our first registration date. Watch for more information if you have pets to be spayed or neutered. Make sure to sign up early since the clinics fill up every year.
Have a Heart Pet Shelter is located at 4291 E. Highway 62 in Flippin (across from Ozarks Realty). The shelter is open for business Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 3 pm.
