Pets Of The Week

We had a good week at the shelter. Several cats and kittens were adopted, and 15 puppies were transported to Illinois for adoption there. We are preparing 9 more dogs and puppies for transport to Massachusetts the first week of June and will be getting in new dogs and LOTS of kittens for adoption. Although we have been closed due to the pandemic, we will be opening our Thrift store this Friday and Saturday, May 29th and 30th, and we will be having a big outdoor yard sale! We will have some great stuff for sale, with all proceeds used for the care of our shelter animals. So please show your support and stop by to see what we have. We ask that you observe social distancing, and have put in place the following rules for entering the shelter:  no entry for anyone with signs of illness (fever, coughing, runny nose), masks required, sign visitor log, wash hands upon entry and before leaving, 6 feet social distancing, no more than 10 persons in the building at any time.

Marvin, a 2-year-old tri-color hound mix, is our featured dog this week. This calm, affectionate boy came to the shelter as an unclaimed stray from Yellville. He was heartworm positive and has been treated by a veterinarian. He walks well on a leash and seems to be at least partially house-trained. He is very smart and eager to learn and will make a great family pet.

We are not featuring a cat this week but have kittens available for foster-with-the-intent-to-adopt. Please call to make an appointment to choose a kitten. Our adoptable animals can be viewed on our website haveaheartpetshelter.org, Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, Pet Harbor and Petango. Have a Heart Pet Shelter is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. The shelter and thrift store will be open Friday and Saturday 9am-3pm. Phone 870-449-7387.
