The volunteers and fur-kids at Have a Heart hope that y’all had a Happy (socially distanced) Thanksgiving. Despite these trying times, most of us can always find something for which to be thankful. The pets at Have a Heart are thankful for the great care they receive. The Shelter pets get fed twice a day, dogs get walked twice daily, they have a warm place to sleep and kennels/litter boxes are cleaned every day. They have toys to play with and there are volunteers who socialize with them. They are free of fleas, ticks and parasites and are up to date on vaccinations. Many animals in our area don’t have it near as good as our fur-kids. Thanks to all our great supporters who make this possible through donations of time or resources. We couldn’t do it without your help.
Due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in our area, Have a Heart is currently doing adoptions by appointment only. The Thrift Store is also closed at this time. Our only adoption last week was a sweet long haired dog named Frosty. Our featured cat for this week is Runaround. Adorable, outgoing Runaround is a stray from the Yellville area. She’s a beautiful grey and white tabby. She has been an outdoor kitty and no doubt produced several litters of kittens, but is now enjoying the indoor life of leisure as a greeter at the Shelter. Lots of sweet personality in this girl!
Instead of a single featured dog this week, we are featuring a whole litter of pups that will soon be ready to go to their fur-ever homes. A week ago, 7 pups were brought to the shelter and surrendered. Their date of birth is 9/21/20. Mom is a Black & Tan Coon Hound and Dad is a Great Pyrenees mix. There are 5 females and 2 males. Two males look like redbones, two females look like black & tans, two females are blonde and Pyrenees looking and one female is ticked like a Blue Tick or Heeler. You can see pictures of individual pups on our Facebook page.
They are all adorable and very well socialized. One of the females is already spoken for, but the others will be ready on December 5th to be seen and available for foster pending adoption. That means you foster them until they are old enough to be sterilized and rabies vaccinated. Call Have a Heart if you would like to schedule a “meet and greet” for one these adorable pups, Runaround or any of our other adoptable pets. Animals available for adoption may be viewed on our website, www.haveaheartpetshelter.org, on Petfinder, Adopt a Pet, Petango, and Pet Harbor. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville.
