Pets Of The Week

Last week’s article mentioned the record number of puppies being cared for by Have a Heart. We posted on our Facebook page that we were in need of puppy chow, and once again, the supportive members of our community responded with generous donations of puppy chow. Thanks to all who stepped up in our time of need to help care for our Shelter pets.

Last week, several of the puppies we were caring for went to local homes as fosters with their adoptions to be finalized after they are spayed or neutered. You can see pictures of these pups with their new families on our Facebook page. The rest of the puppies went on transport last week to the Humane Society of Missouri, where we hope they will be quickly adopted. Fortunate felines who went home with their new families last week included Runaround, Crystal and Chuck Norris (last week’s featured kitty). HAH is continuing to conduct adoptions by appointment only.

This week we have two featured kittens. Meet brothers Anthony and Mr. Brooks. Although they don’t look alike, they are brothers! Anthony is a black and white tuxedo kitty and Mr. Brooks is an orange Tabby. Both are very cuddly, loving kittens. These boys were given up with their momma and other siblings when they were just kittens. A kind samaritan was the surprised recipient of this little family when they were given to her with a note that apologized but hoped they could have a better life. The lady found homes for momma and two kittens and kept two – Anthony and Mr. Brooks (named after Garth Brooks). Unfortunately, a recent serious health issue has forced the lady to give up her beloved pets and now they are looking for a home for Christmas. Although they are siblings, they do fine on their own and (as such) don’t need to be adopted together. These 7 month old youngsters both enjoy being held and are fond of “love nibbles”. They are very playful and get along with the other cats and kittens in the cattery. You can schedule an appointment to meet Anthony, Mr. Brooks or any of our other adoptable pets. We are not featuring a specific dog this week. HAH’s adoptable pets can be seen on our website, www.haveaheartpetshelter.org, on Petfinder, Adopt a Pet, Petango, and Pet Harbor.
