Pets of the Week

A great deal of activity has been going on at Have A Heart Pet Shelter and there is much more on the horizon. The third (and final for 2022) Volunteer Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic was held last week, during which 63 cats and 52 dogs were sterilized. Just imagine how many unwanted kittens and puppies this will prevent in our community. Thank you to the responsible pet owners and to all our volunteers who helped make this happen!

Have A Heart is a non-profit organization, operating solely on donations, fundraisers, and occasional grants. We have several important fundraisers coming up, starting this weekend! We’ll be having a huge garage sale at the Shelter this Friday and Saturday so come shop with us. There’s no telling what bargains you will find as we’ll have something for everyone.

We also hope to see many of you at Turkey Trot, October 14-15. Stop by our booth and purchase some of Patrick’s yummy homemade dog treats for your furbaby. Proceeds go to help care for the animals at HAH who are waiting to be adopted.

And “Save the Date” of Saturday, November 19. That’s when our Annual Soup and Chili Supper (with a cake and pie auction) will take place. More details will be available soon.

Pets of the Week

First up, meet Caramel. This sweet girl has had a rough start in life. Along with her siblings and her mom, she started out in a kill shelter. Born on June 8, she came to HAH when she was two months old and weighed just over 11 pounds. We quickly got her into a good foster home but, about two weeks later, she became very ill and had to be hospitalized.

Once she was well enough, she returned to the shelter to continue on the medication profile prescribed. This little girl has a fighting spirit and has done very well on the road to a full recovery. The only remaining sign of her illness are patches of hair loss due to one of the medications.

Caramel is eating well, gaining weight, and is a playful, happy puppy. Now she just needs a family to take her home and make her life complete. Could that be you?

And here is Mittens. She came into the shelter in mid-June with five little babies in tow. Sadly, her owner had passed away unexpectedly. Mittens was a good little mama and all her babies have gotten their own forever homes. Now it’s her turn for a happy ending. She was adopted in August but the adopters had several other animals and she didn’t quite fit in. They returned her to the shelter and we’re determined to find her just the right home.

Mittens is only two years old and is a beautiful brown tabby with white paws. She is very playful and enjoys chasing toys on the Cattery floor.

If you’d like to meet Mittens, Caramel, or any of our other adoptables, please call the shelter at 870-449-7387 or come see us at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville. Wagging tails and purring motors are in abundance!
