Pet of the Week

Dear Santa:

Hi there! I guess you don’t know me yet, but my name is George Weasley and for about five months I’ve been living here at Have A Heart Pet Shelter in Yellville, Arkansas. I came here at the end of July when some nice canoers found me, my brother (Fred), and three older kittens from another litter who had all been abandoned under a bridge. We were all SO scared but we were welcomed here and have been well taken care of since then.

Fred and I were only two weeks old at that time! Can you believe it? So we needed extra care, because we were so young and underweight.

The three older kittens all got adopted and, just this past week, my spunky brother, Fred, went to his own furever home. So that leaves me and I’m not really sure why no one has taken me home yet because, let me tell you, I’m a real keeper!

The kind people who take care of us here at the Shelter told us the human kids wrote letters to you that were printed in last week’s newspaper, telling you what they want for Christmas this year. So we – cats and dogs – had a meeting and decided we should do the same. Hey, it’s worth a shot!

Because of my charming purrsonality (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it), I was elected to be the spokesman for the gang here. And I really do want to help my buddies find their own homes, but, first, let’s talk about me…

I’m playful and loving. I enjoy being held, giving hugs, and nuzzling your face if you’ll let me. I get along well with other cats in our Cattery (which is probably why I was elected). I’m a handsome red tabby and, while I’m happy for my brother, Fred, and the other kittens I came in with, I really, really want my own home and family too.

While I’m at it, all my feline and canine friends here at Have A Heart would love nothing more for Christmas than to find their very own people and homes. We’re not asking for much and we promise we’ll love you furever. We’re very loved and cared for here, but, let’s face it, it gets pretty crowded around here sometimes.

In the meantime, we’re being the very best boys and girls we can be. Santa, we know you’ll do your best to help us find our homes. And please tell Rudolph how much we appreciate how he guides your sleigh!

Love always.

Your friend,

George W.
