Pets of the Week

We know you think we say this every week…maybe we do…but it was another VERY busy week at Have A Heart Pet Shelter! We had four local adoptions, a return-to-owner, and seven adult dogs and 21 puppies sent out of state to be adopted. Oh, and did we mention, we were called to assist in another large rescue…this time a colony of felines was brought to our attention by first responders called to a medical case. There were around 70 cats involved, 27 of which we were able to bring in for immediate care. We are SO grateful for the way our community responds when we have immediate needs for food, donations, fosters, etc. And the work goes on.

Allow us to introduce Mindy. She is such a beautiful seven-month-old terrier mix. Currently weighing in at 18 pounds, we believe she’ll remain in the medium-sized range as an adult. Mindy has long, slender legs and just look at that beautiful sleek coat. It’s even prettier in person!

This sweet girl is very smart, gets along well with other dogs, is housebroken and loves attention. Who can blame her? Mindy was surrendered by her owner who had too many dogs in an apartment where she wasn’t supposed to have any pets. That sure was no fault of Mindy’s so we’re determined to find her a good home! She’s been in a foster home for the past couple of weeks because there was no room at the Shelter. But, oh my, what a wonderful companion she will make for the right person or family!Could that be you????

And look here! This is Wilbertine! She came to HAH as part of the five who needed new homes after their Mom was diagnosed with a tumor and soon passed away. When Wilbertine was just a wee kitten, the husband gave “it” the name Wilbur. When they realized “it” was a female, she became Wilbertine. Just like her sibling, Butterscotch, (who we featured recently), Wilbertine was born July 2017 so she’s around 5 ½ years old. This gorgeous tortoiseshell with deep rust and dark coloring, is shy at first but she is a very sweet girl and will warm up to you in no time. She likes being petted and is a talker. Come visit with her and you’ll have a great time!

If you’d like to meet Mindy, Wilbertine, or any of our other adoptables, give us a call at 870-449-7387 or visit the shelter at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during normal business hours, Wednesday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm.
