Pet of the Week

The volunteers of Have A Heart Pet Shelter continue to be very busy. Sometimes it seems it is a never-ending cycle of abandoned furbabies…we care for them, find them wonderful homes, and get calls of more abandoned furbabies. Just a reminder…please spay and neuter your pets to help us reduce the numbers of unwanted dogs and cats. Our next Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic is in May and we’re taking names/contact information now. Please call the Shelter at 870/449-7387 during normal business hours to get on the list.

All five of the dogs we recently sent to Mutts Rescue back east have already been adopted. We have 15 puppies ready to transport to a reputable puppy rescue this week, where they will have much better chances of being adopted. And we’re working diligently to get another large group of puppies vetted and ready for transport out of state next week. We are so grateful for the good relationships we have with other rescues! It definitely makes our work here a little easier.

Chief is our Pet of the Week. This sweet boy is a one year old, male brindle colored terrier mix. He is an extremely well behaved dog who came from Bull Shoals Animal Control two weeks ago. When he arrived, Chief had some large wounds that looked like he had either been attacked by another animal or hit by a car. With a little veterinary care he is now looking especially handsome. Just look at that fella! He walks great on a leash, is a quiet boy, and appears to be housebroken. He’s going to make someone a wonderful, loving companion and will be so grateful for kindness shown.

If you’d like to meet Chief or any of our other adoptables, please call the Shelter at 870/449-7387 or come by and see us at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville. Our normal business hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. We join Chief in hoping to see you soon!
