Greetings from the volunteers and all the furbabies at Have A Heart Pet Shelter!
This week’s Dog of the Week is Raider.
Raider is 2 ½ years old and is a black and white terrier/border collie mix. He currently weighs 44 pounds and won’t get much, if any, bigger. He walks great on a leash and is house trained.
Raider loves attention but, because of previous ownership, he prefers the company of women. Over time he will warm up to anyone if they take the time with him. For comfort he likes his cozy bed and blanket. He also likes soft plush toys that crinkle and a bone to chew on.
Just like any young dog, he has energy to spare that needs to be worn out. Raider would likely do best with a fenced in yard to run and play in.
Our Cat of the Week is Aspen.
This absolutely gorgeous young lady is Aspen and she’s a little over a year old (DOB is 10/27/22). Her owners loved her but, unfortunately, suffered a change in living conditions and had to surrender her because they can no longer keep her. (They actually have two kitties but we were only able to squeeze in Aspen at this time). They couldn’t find a shelter near them that could help until they found us.
At first, Aspen was confused but now she’s coming out of her shell. She is talkative and curious. Sometimes she will lick/soft bite, likely because she’s still figuring out her new surroundings.
We’re hoping to get the other kitty (a male) in soon.
If you’d like to meet Raider, Aspen, or any of our other adoptables, please give us a call at 870/449-7387 or visit the shelter at 657 Highway 202 West in Yellville during our normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. We look forward to seeing you!
