Happy New Year from the volunteers and the fur-kids at Have a Heart Pet Shelter. We are looking forward to good things happening in the New Year. We hope to add improvements to our new location. We were awarded grant money to add a catio to the building. We are also wanting to add fencing so the dogs can have an outdoor play area. We will continue to improve as much as we can, but we are in need of donations to achieve our goals. Stop by and check out the thrift store. All money from purchases goes to the shelter.
Each week we have been featuring some of our adoptable dogs and cats. This week’s feature is Mikey. Here’s his story: “Hi there. My name is Mikey. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and that all your Christmas dreams came true. My Christmas wish was to be adopted, but I am still here at Have a Heart. Hopefully I will find my fur-ever home in the New Year.
A little about me. I came to Have a Heart Pet Shelter in November with my mom and sister. I am a 3 month old Chihuahua mix and I weigh close to six pounds. I get along great with other dogs. I am not quite potty trained, but hey, I’m a pup. Some folks say that I am a small dog with a big personality. I would have to agree with them. So, why don’t you come on in to Have a Heart and check out my personality. I know you will fall in love.”
We are not featuring a specific cat this week, but we have many sweet cats and kittens that are looking for their loving fur-ever home. Stop by and meet them.
