Pets Of The Week

Pets of the Week
Thanks to everyone who shopped our Yard Sale last weekend. Despite Thursday night winds making a mess of the early set-up, the sale went on as planned on Friday and Saturday.  We sold a lot of our older merchandise to make room for some different items in our thrift store.  All the money raised helps fund care for the fur-kids. I mentioned in last week’s article that we were transporting 5 dogs out of state. Two of the five already have deposits for their adoption. Of course, there are other dogs waiting to take their places at the shelter. Even though not all of our dogs get adopted locally, if we help them on their way to a new home it’s “mission accomplished”.
This week’s featured dog is Max. Max is a very sweet natured Border Collie mix. His estimated age is around 9 months to 1 year He has all the features and characteristics of a Border Collie with a very short coat. He currently weighs 35 lbs and is healthy, in good condition. Max came to us as a stray from the Harrison area off Hwy 62 West. He’s a lovely young dog, attentive, alert, active and smart. He walks decently on leash and he’s even showing us signs of being housebroken! Max seems to like everyone and appears to be good around other dogs. Border Collies tend to be high energy, so Max will need a family who is able to get him the exercise he needs.
Our featured kitty is Gidget.  She is a pretty Siamese / grey tabby mix. She is a Domestic Shorthair cat. We estimate her age is less than a year old. She’s very playful but doesn’t really like the other kittens in the Cattery. At this point she is not yet spayed, but will be soon. All our fur-kids are spayed or neutered before adoption and up to date on their shots, as well as being treated for fleas and ticks. You can stop by to meet Max, Gidget and our other adoptable pets. While you’re there make sure to see what new items are for sale in our thrift store. You can also drop off any items you would like to donate (no clothing) during our regular hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville.
