Pets Of The Week

Pets of the Week

The Thanksgiving weekend has passed, so we are officially into the Christmas spirit. Have a Heart’s Thrift Store volunteers have been busy stocking the shelves with seasonal decorations and there are also many nice items that would make great gifts, all at bargain prices. For the best selection, shop early.

Last week was a good week for adoptions. Little Red was adopted as well as Ellie, one of the hound pups. Tappy found his fur-ever home and he now has a sweet little boy that cuddles with him. Thumbelina, (now named Everest) one of the tiny abandoned kittens is being fostered with the intent to adopt. There are 3 more of these little kitties we would love to see find homes with a foster to adoption arrangement. It would be so much better for these little guys to not have to grow up in the Shelter, not to mention that the cattery is full. Permanent adoptions can be completed after the kittens are old enough to be spayed or neutered.

Our featured dog for the week is Stanley. Stanley is a young black lab mix estimated to be about 1 year old and weighing 46 lbs. He arrived at HAH after nobody claimed him from Flippin Animal Control. Stanley has a sweet personality and seems to get along well with other dogs and loves people. He’s not very fond of cats. Stanley, like all young labs, has a lot of energy and would need to be adopted by an active individual or family that could help him burn off the excess energy. Stop by Have a Heart to meet Stanley or any of our other dogs who are hoping to find their fur-ever homes.

Redford is this week’s featured kitty. Redford (aka Robert Redford) is a young, handsome, black and white kitty. We estimate that he was born April 2019 to mama, Blossom, who’s already been adopted. Redford is very curious and playful and enjoys digging so would benefit from a covered litter box. He loves lots of attention and playing with the other cats. He has asked Santa Paws for his very own fur-ever home for the holidays. Do you need a new furry family member? Can you help make Redford’s wish come true? Come visit Redford and our other adoptable kitties. Your new best friend might be waiting for you at the Shelter.

We are always in need of a few more volunteers to help us care for the critters, walk dogs, clean kennels, socialize with the animals, tote stuff for the Thrift Store and all the other chores that keep the Shelter running. If you can spare a few hours a week, or even once a month, contact David, our volunteer coordinator. We would love to have your help. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9am to 3 pm. Phone 870-449-7387.
