It was a great week for kitty adoptions at Have a Heart. Little Treasure, the kitten found thrown in a dumpster, and our pretty Calico, Oona, were adopted together. Adopting two kittens together is a good idea, especially if the pets will be alone for a good portion of the day. Mocha, the senior Himalayan, Dillon and Oscar found their fur-ever homes. Smokee, the store greeter at All Pet and Equine, was adopted. Charlie is the new store greeter at All Pet. Stop by the store to meet him and get a furry cuddle! Thank you to our friends at All Pet & Equine in Mountain Home for letting our kittens stay there while they shop for their new families. HAH has a lot of kittens in foster that will be coming into the Shelter soon, so if you are thinking about adding a kitten to your family, let us help you find the right pet. We did not have any dog adoptions this week, but HAH did send 21 puppies out of state on transport to puppy rescues. Despite all of the efforts put forth by Have a Heart and the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Program, we still have more puppies in our area than we have families to adopt them. That is why we choose to send these pups out of state hoping they will have a better chance of finding a good home.
HAH’s Thrift Store is continuing the Fall Sale with many items marked down by 25-50 %. Come and check out the bargains. We would like to empty the shelves and make room for some new merchandise. The Thrift Store volunteers do a great job organizing and displaying the merchandise.
This week’s featured dog is Lily. Lily is a 2 year old black and tan Husky/Border Collie mix, weighing almost 50 lbs. She is a young, active girl with a sweet personality. Lily loves to play with her toys. She likes to go for rides and she is housebroken. Lily is not good with chickens (which is why she was surrendered). Lily is a smart young girl who could be the loyal companion you seek, if you could show her a little TLC and provide some additional training.
Pauline is the featured kitty this week. Pauline is a 5 month old female Red Tabby with a very sweet purr-sonality. She is a quiet kitty who would do well in a mature household. You can meet Pauline, Lily and our other adoptable pets at Have a Heart during regular hours, Thursday through Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville.
