Pets Of The Week

The autumn leaves are falling and so are the prices at Have a Heart’s Thrift Store. This weekend our Thrift Store will be having a huge yard sale with bargains galore. Stop by the Shelter this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 15th, 16th  and 17th , from 9 am to 3 pm and check out the great deals. All of the proceeds from the Thrift Store sales are used to care for the Shelter pets.

The volunteers at HAH had another very busy week. Six dogs were sent to a rescue in Massachusetts where they all had adopters waiting for them. Check out our Facebook page to see pictures of lucky dogs Roscoe, Walker, Pawnee, Bo, Smiley and Midnight with their new families. It’s a lot of work to get these dogs ready to go on transport, but it’s worth all the effort when we see how happy the dogs look with their new families. We had several local adoptions this past week. Young dog Joey, kitties Digit, Brownie, Athena and 2 of the Siamese kittens were adopted. Our friends at All Pet helped store greeter Charlie Chaplin find his new home. The new store greeters are Sebastian and Pauline. Stop by All Pet and Equine in Mountain Home to meet the new greeters and say thanks to the folks at All Pet for helping our kitties find permanent homes. We have some new dogs coming in within the next few days and we have been getting puppies ready to leave on the next puppy transport. There is never a dull moment at the Shelter.

Our featured dog this week is Harley.  Harley is a sweet little fellow. He is approximately 8 mos. old and weighs only 21 lbs. We think he is a Beagle/Aussie Mix. He is sure to make someone a wonderful pet. Harley gets along well with other dogs & cats, walks well on a leash and appears to be housebroken. Harley was found as a stray outside of Harrison a little over 3 weeks ago. He and another dog were dumped in a rural area and were very underweight when they were found. He has been in the home of a foster family until we had room for him at the Shelter. He is a great little dog who deserves a second chance.

Midnight is the featured kitty this week. As the nights get longer and cooler, curl up to the midnight and embrace it … or in this case embrace HER. Our Midnight is an adorable 8 week old black female kitten who was born to a stray mama in the Summit area. She is playful and curious and gets along with her siblings and the other kitties in the cattery. We got mom fixed and released and her babies are now old enough to go into their own homes and get their own fur-ever families. Stop by Have a Heart to meet Midnight, Harley and our other adoptable pets. The Shelter is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Hours are Thursday through Saturday 9am to 3 pm. Phone 870-449-7387.
