Pets Of The Week

The board members and volunteers at Have a Heart wish everyone a Happy New Year. We will all be glad to see 2020 in the rearview mirror and look forward to a better year in 2021. With vaccinations becoming available, our Have a Heart family hopes to be able to open the Shelter and Thrift Store soon and get back to business as usual. The revenue from sales at the Thrift Store is an integral part of our fundraising efforts and the loss of this income has definitely strained our budget. At this time we are continuing to conduct business by appointment only.

Our cattery is crowded, so we are featuring two kitties this week. Meet siblings Twilight and Spooky. These kittens were part of a litter born September 10th in the back of a truck in Summit. They are darling 3 month old short haired black kittens. Both are curious and playful. Brother Spooky is affectionate and loves playing with the other kittens in the cattery. Sister Twilight is a sweet little girl who loves people and melts pretty quickly when held. She has a great purr motor.

Bandit is our featured dog for the week. Bandit is a 3 year old, American Bull Dog mix who currently weighs 60 lbs. He came to the Shelter as a stray. Bandit is fully vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped, and heartworm negative. He walks well on a leash and loves all the volunteers. Bandit especially loves young men. He likes to go for car rides and hang his head out the window. He is a strong boy who has had basic obedience training. He likes to chase cats and small dogs, but gets along with some large dogs if properly introduced. He would do best in a home without small children, small dogs or cats. He has been at the shelter for way too long. He is such a good boy – a gentle slobber puss who loves people. He just needs a chance at having a good home with people who like goofy, happy-go-lucky big boys. Poor Bandit found a great home for 6 months, but his new owner had to go into assisted living and now Bandit is back at the shelter. Do you have room in your heart and your home for this sweet boy who is seeking a loving fur-ever home?
