We had a good week for adoptions at Have a Heart Shelter. Several of Lulu’s puppies were adopted including Deku, Toots and one pup who had not yet been named. Both of last week’s featured pets, Denny and Corky, went home with their new families. Additionally, a pretty cat named Luna and Wendy the Boxer were adopted. You may remember Wendy from our article a couple weeks ago. She was dangerously underweight when she was rescued. Have a Heart took in another severely malnourished dog last week. Gulliver was brought to the Shelter by Summit Animal Control. He was in worse shape than Wendy, literally being skin and bones. He is doing well at the Shelter and we’re hoping he recovers completely. It’s heartbreaking to see these animals so undernourished. Have a Heart tries to help prevent situations like this with our Pet Food Assistance Program. If you are having financial difficulty providing food for your pet, you can contact HAH and we can usually supply some pet food to help out on a temporary basis.
This week’s featured kitty is a handsome brown tabby boy named Jerry. Jerry is cuddly, playful and sweet. He came to the Shelter with three sisters who have all been adopted. Now it’s time for Jerry to find a family to call his own. He is very playful and has a couple of favorite toys in the cattery that he likes to carry around in his mouth. He gets along well with the other cats in the cattery and is on the quiet side. Jerry would be the purr-fect companion if you’re feeling a bit isolated these days.
Bonnie is our featured dog for the week. Bonnie is a 1 yr old female terrier mix that was surrendered by some wonderful people who took her in when she was a stray. She had a litter of pups that we have sent to a puppy rescue and now HAH wants to find a home for this sweet girl. Bonnie is very calm, well behaved, walks well on a leash and appears to be housebroken. She weighs in at 53 lbs. Bonnie would make a good family pet. Call Have a Heart to schedule an appointment to meet Jerry, Bonnie or any of our other adoptable pets. HAH’s adoptable pets can be seen on our website, www.haveaheartpetshelter.org, on Petfinder, Adopt a Pet, Petango, and Pet Harbor. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville.
