Pet Of The Week

Last week was another productive one for the volunteers at Have a Heart. We had 5 local adoptions, sent 22 pups to an out of state puppy rescue and 7 adult dogs went to the east coast where they all had families awaiting their arrival. January was one of our busiest months ever. HAH had 30 local adoptions, sent 43 pups to rescues and 19 adult dogs adopted and transported out of state to the east coast. These are very impressive numbers for our small, all volunteer Shelter. All of these accomplishments are funded through generous donations from our community. Since last spring, when the Covid-19 crisis began, HAH has been operating with a small dedicated group of volunteers. This was done in an effort to limit exposure to the virus and keep our volunteers healthy. Now that vaccines are being distributed and we are hopefully making some headway in the pandemic, HAH would like to get some more volunteers to help care for Shelter pets and keep up with all the chores that need doing. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, the first step is to fill out a volunteer application form and submit it to HAH. You can download the form from a link on our website. There is a place on the form where you can indicate what areas you would like to assist with, be it dog walking, Thrift Store help, cat care, laundry or many other options. We need help with a wide variety of tasks and scheduling can be flexible. The most important thing is to be reliable and show up when you’re supposed to. Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we chose to spotlight sweet Valentino for our kitty of the week. Valentino is a young, Tabby boy with a cute round face and super soft almost medium length coat of fur. As his name suggests, he is a very loving kitty and can be quite talkative at times. Valentino has a sweet disposition and enjoys head and belly rubs. If you’re a member of “the lonely hearts club”, Valentino may just be the boy to warm the cockles of your lonely heart. Call HAH to schedule an appointment to meet Valentino or any of our other adoptable pets. HAH’s adoptable pets can be seen on our website, www.haveaheartpetshelter.org, on Petfinder, Adopt a Pet, Petango, and Pet Harbor. We are not featuring a specific dog this week. Have a Heart is located at 657 Highway 202 in Yellville. Phone 870-449-7387.
